Tiring Antes is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This world toils under the control of a military government with conditions reflecting that situation including curtailed civil rights and limited freedoms.
- It is a member of the Hive Federation in the Flux Subsector of Spica Sector.

Mainworld Data[edit]
Tiring Antes is a wet world with a thick, misty atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
Native Lifeforms[edit]
The ecosystems of Tiring Antes are aggressive. Wilderness areas are carefully maintained to protect imported species, as these are at great risk from local wildlife. The same is true of Hiver larvae, and survival rates are very low, even with constant efforts to create a balance as regards lethality. This high infant mortality rate is acceptable, since Tiring Antes is occupied for political and economic reasons rather than being a home.
History & Background / Dossier[edit]
Tiring Antes is a regular port of entry for ships from the Solomani Confederation headed into Hive Federation space. Solomani naval vessels are also common, to "show the flag" and occasionally conducting joint exercises. These rarely go well, since the Hive Federation's military operations are incompatible with the formal command structure of the Confederation Navy. It is also suspected that Hivers like to mess with earnest Solomani visitors -- either to simply observe their reactions or else to undermine the reputation of officers who might someday lead an offensive against them.
World Starport[edit]
Tiring Antes has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Technology Level[edit]
Tiring Antes possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government[edit]
Tiring Antes has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. A colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
Tiring Antes is a military outpost primarily, mirroring the Solomani Confederation bases over the border at Evermore and Portends.
World Military[edit]
The military base is a sprawling facility located on one of the world's few sizeable landmasses. It is home to a large force of ground troops, most of them Ithklur, and also to an extensive maritime operations training facility.
While the naval base is heavily fortified, and in-system defensive craft are mostly pure combat designs, most of the ships based out of the installation are multirole types suited to commerce and diplomacy as well as combat. This is typical of the Hive Federation approach to military matters, deliberately creating conditions in which conflict is unlikely.
